2016 resolution: from virtual romance to real romance?

I chose to share this Ted Talk to emphasize on the fact that we are still in the early stages of digital. We are discovering, testing, implementing. Digital makes us feel less lonely and is capable of boosting our egos in a split second. We are never cut off during a conversation and everyone is listening to us (rather being on Facebook or Quora).

Yet, we have never felt so lonely … Meditate

Happy New Year, wishing you a healthier digital life.

In a relationship and still on Tinder?

tinder, idatayou,dating,sex,love,internet

It strikes me how many more men used Tinder in 2015 compared to women (twice more).

But the most interesting element throughout my study has been the proportion of “in a relationship” users. I interviewed a few of them: why are you on this dating app? What will you do if you see your boyfriend/girlfriend on Tinder (how awesome would that be honestly?), what if you “pseudo-fall in love” on the app?

I develop this point in a chapter of my book and I truly was thrilled to investigate on this particular subject.

A more detailed post on the psychology of this “quasi-cheating” behavior coming soon.

Tinder in the dictionary: a premonition?

Today I went to a different yoga class at my usual studio. The class was a level-two-Flow; we started on our mats seated in Sukhasana. Up until then nothing felt wrong. I am usually very much into my own little world while practicing my daily yoga. Not wanting to get distracted by my surroundings. Although, for the first time in my seven years of practice, I couldn’t focus, my breathing got heavier and uneven, as the teacher started mentioning “Tinder” in her meditation script.

I mean honestly? I bet this app will be added to the English dictionary next year.

What could be the definition? “To swipe left or right with your index finger on your Smartphone’s screen in order to choose individuals – to meet them for intercourse, a relationship or who knows what .”

Definition of TINDER

  2. browsing through a database of men or women in your surroundings
  3. looking for sexual passion or desire: “you look hot!”
  4. longing for a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart : “Would you like to meet in person?”
  5. An ego booster: “I can still seduce others, how awesome I feel amazing!”

  4. to keep options open (in case your boyfriend is also on TINDER and leaves you for a hotter match)
  5. to dream of embracing and kissing (someone), as a lover in real life.
  6. to idealize an individual you will never meet in person

A book about Data, Dating & Chocolates

This Blog is a way to build awareness before my Book gets published. IDataYou isn’t just a book. It’s a journey into my heart. Sailing the waves of my feelings and emotions, exploring my deepest thoughts as if you were experiencing it yourself. I never took writing lessons nor did I study journalism or literature. I do not believe writing should only be for those people. I finally have the strength to share my work. While writing this paragraph I can’t help it but get tears in my eyes as if I was finally realizing something. Freeing myself from judgment of any kind. Being myself, unifying with my creative soul at last. My cherished hidden side, the fruits of my soul searching. This book, this essay, this guide whatever you may call it, may shock a few, may affect others, may get negative criticism. I don’t care! I’m honest and transparent about everything & all the material I’ve gathered.. I will keep my identity unveiled for now but I can promise you I will be out there very soon after this is published.

I want to leave an impact in this world. Not financially nor for the wrong reasons, I just want to help others and feel I lived fully. The heart is a muscle in need for constant stimulation. I do not believe in norms or social standards, I LOVE freely.
